The Will

An empty daughter of depression, with a strong temper and a determined will, she traveled all her life in search of her true inheritance.  She had lost her mother as an infant, and her father at the age of seven.  Somehow, she fell through the cracks of the state system, and she grew up on the rough side of town, going from place to place, one gang to another just to survive.  She would steal for them, make distractions for them, and even turn tricks for them; anything they told her, she would do. This lifestyle made her tough, a rebel from the darker side of town; yet, she hated this life.  She knew there had to be more.  She wanted a purpose in her life, a reason to love, a reason to hate, a reason to live.

She finally left her gang, at the age of seventeen, determined to find a better place and a new life for herself.  She remembered her father telling her stories of his past and of her mother. He had told her of a rich heritage, lots of wealth and success; however, each of them had been disowned, because they were determined to marry outside the families’ prestigious arrangements. The young girl thought, maybe, perhaps, a chance meeting would make the difference for her………

Light Of The Son

The sun shines bright this morn, unlike it did yesterday

It burns with a brightness I have never seen

Its light shines through the clouds of darkness

Like the dawn interrupts the dream

This brightness is not coming from the fireball in the sky

This light could only manifest through You

You are the Almighty One, Life Everlasting

You came into my darkened heart and gave me life anew

This sea of unforgiveness was quickly drowning me

Turning me back and forth until I knew not which way to go

I went over to the left, returning to the right

Always trying to prove to all, the right of way I clearly know

I was entrapped too deep, in way over my head

Then You came and rescued me, showed me Your true way

You covered me, washed and made me whole

You showed me Your path and surely brightened my day

Now, I am a new creation, bathed in Your royal blood

Washed so white, purified, and made in Your righteousness

I praise Your Name on High. You are above all else

Awed by Your beauty and the light of Your Son

In Him

I used to sit here

                             On a rainy day

                                                      Just sit here and dream

                                                                                              In a weary way

Now the rain is gone

The clouds are done now too

                                                                               And when I look ahead

                                                                                                                      The only dream is You

You have brought me life

And through You I have grown

                                                                                               Please don’t ever leave me

Because then I’d be all alone

Don’t Wait Too Long

The time, it goes by so slow

You have nothing to do

The time, it goes by so fast

You have way too many dues

It is time to make up your mind

Are you going to take the fall?

It is time to make a decision

Are you going to answer the call?

The time, it’s running thin

You have to decide

The time, it’s almost gone

You have to draw the line

It’s time to stand up tall

Are you going to be strong?

It’s time to fight the fight

Are you going to do right or wrong?

There will come a day

You will have to face the fact

The time, it is no more

You will have to realize that

This time, He has closed the door.

If These Walls Could Talk

If these walls could talk, what would they say? Would they groan over the hardships they’ve seen? Would they sway under the weight of change? Would they laugh at old antics and past traditions? Would they smile at the new lives and refurbished dreams?

Would they share a solid faith? Or would they cry over faltered testimonies? Would they weep from years of lost souls? Would they impart wisdom beyond measure or reprimand our crooked ways?

If these walls could talk, what would the tell us? Can you hear them? Are you listening? I think I hear a whisper on the wind…

Think Jeep, Blue Sky, Fresh Air

Don’t Throw it Away

You’ve got so much to live for; you’ve got so many days.

You’ve got so far to go; so, why toss them all away?

You think there is no harm; you think there is no mess.

You think there is no pain; so, why is there this death?

You didn’t see it coming; you didn’t see it go.

You didn’t see it hit; so, why are you so low?

You’re falling into the trap; you’re falling into my arms.

You’re falling into the hole; so, why not stay from this harm?

You’ve come to me in love; you’ve come to me in shame.

You’ve come to me in anger; so, why do they still blame?

You have to make a choice; you have to make the decision.

You have to make a change; so, why are you resisting?

You can’t wait forever; you need to get it straight.

You’ve got to do it now; so, please don’t wait too late.

You have so much to give; you need not to be afraid.

You’ve got so much to live for; so, please don’t throw it all away.

The Snow

The snow continues to fall in the streets

When will the skies ever clear?

Can they not see it is destroying their strand?

Do they not notice?  Can they not understand?

It will never let them turn this way.

It lures them with its charm and deception.

It claims to give them wealth and power.

Meanwhile, it is tearing down their inner towers.

The snow is still falling…

It gives them energy to last through the day.

While it pulls at and crumbles their walls.

It gives them the joy they believe will keep them alive.

While it kills and destroys everything in which they take pride.

The snow is still falling…

They do not see the finish coming too soon.

They do not realize the end as it comes to take their breath.

Death comes so quickly and so quietly. They never know it is there.

Death comes and destroys them without even a care.

The snow is still falling…

The snow continues to fall in the streets.

The skies now cannot be cleared.

They cannot see it is destroying their strand.

No, they do not notice it. They can never understand.

The Death of Life

She was young and beautiful, full of energy and life. She had everything they wanted, beauty, fame and wealth.  But she was tired, lonely and confused.  She longed for him to take her in his arms and hold her.  She fell for his sweet charm and loving smile, never knowing his true intentions.  He manipulated and abused her with his little game. He didn’t care. He didn’t feel the pain.  And when it was over, he left her to pick up her shattered dreams alone.

Now, she was alone, scarred and ashamed. She had to mend her broken heart while hoping she had enough strength to live through the day.  Even now there was a new form inside of her, living, breathing, feeling.  But she established a solution for this “dilemma”…Destroy it before it is even born.

She took the unborn out of its place. Stole it’s breath of life and heart of love, without ever asking if she could.  She destroyed the being so she could go on living….little did she know that tiny part of her could give all the love and joy she so longed for…

The Fight For Life

Death is calling her home

She hears him, but does not listen

She continues to go on, striving to succeed

Pushing her way at any cost to take the lead

He’s creeping upon her like a shadow

Continually stealing her strength

She’s getting weaker, stumbling along the way

Constantly wondering if he will pass or stay

They are both at war, never giving up

Each striving to overcome this losing battle

Never wanting to admit their own losses

Tearing at each other and pushing on at all cost

Finally the time has come…

Will she choose to surrender or to defeat

She has fought the fight of impossible for some

And realized that she can overcome

She walks forward, trying to conceal

The weapon at her side, gaining confidence at every turn

Face to face with him, she rises and strikes him to the ground

She has conquered the evil one and proven that Love still abounds.
