This is so good, I hope you don’t mind my resharing it… Let us always remember the most important things is life are NEVER things…

It’s early Tuesday morning and I’m sitting at my mother-in-laws bedside at the local community hospital. It seems as though this is the hundredth time I’ve found myself in this situation since moving her and my father-in-law back to Chicago because of failing health. My Father-in-law, or Poppi as he was endearingly referred to by all, has since passed away. He left behind his wife of over 65 years with a void in her heart as wide as the universe. Their love was deep and strong and centered around their faith. It was a strong union. Among the strongest I’ve ever witnessed.
My hubs and I drove to the hospital in separate cars because, well, life is busy and our hectic schedules would pull us in different directions after our visit. For us, even in the midst of emergency and tragedy, life doesn’t slow down. But, for my sweet mother-in-law…

Had to reshare this today. This is really good. 😉
I know it’s Friday, and the New Angke will be posted in just a little while, but as this thought is heavy on my mind today, I felt the need to reshare it… Hope you are encouraged, as well as, challenged today…
There is a song that really hit home with me the other day…
“…And if I were honest with myself
Had I been standing at that tree
My mouth and my hands would be covered with fruit
Things I shouldn’t know and things I shouldn’t see
Remind me of this with every decision
Generations will reap what I sow
I can pass on a curse or a blessing
To those I will never know” – Sara Groves “Generations”
The artist is referring to Eve tasting the fruit in the Garden of Eden, the comparison of her own life and the repercussions of decisions made…
How true it is, the spiritual law of sowing and reaping. If we sow good things, like love, joy, peace, patience, we will reap the same. If we sow seeds of bitterness, rage, envy and strife, that’s exactly what we will harvest. God’s Word is true, and He…

Waiting on Him can be trying, challenging, pressure-filled and, sometimes, downright frustrating. Come on saints, let’s be honest, do you always enjoy waiting on the Lord? Or have you grown “so mature” in your Christian faith that honesty just isn’t part of it anymore?

relatably.com
There have been moments in my life when waiting has been an absolute pain. I’ve not liked it, didn’t understand it, and couldn’t wait for God to bring forth the answer for which I’ve been praying! It’s hard to admit, but there have even been moments in the waiting when I’ve pitched a little temper tantrum for God to see how much I didn’t enjoy the waiting period! Now, that’s not the proper way to respond, because, I know, God knows best, and I should just simply trust Him. However, I don’t claim to be perfect, and I can guarantee you, those times when He has made me wait, I have learned some very valuable lessons for life…
A few things I have learned in the Waiting:
When we wait on Him, our future can be secure. When we wait on Him, we learn. We are strengthened, and, quite often, we are transformed. When we wait on Him and His timing, He is able to work on our character and the molding of our heart and mind.

So, if you find yourself in the waiting room of life today, maybe take a moment away from the emotions and struggles, and breathe. Look to heaven, and ask Him to help you through it. He may not bring an immediate desired answer, but I can guarantee you that when you put your hand in His, you will grow deeper through the wait.
“Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!Psalm 27:14

In honor and memory of his homegoing today, I thought I’d reshare… ❤
I experienced one of the greatest losses of my life 12 years ago today. You see, my grandfather was bigger than life. When he walked in a room, he owned that room. He had the personality of a John Wayne, never meeting a stranger and never afraid to “get up on that horse,” no matter how many fears he had inside. In fact, as a child, I was convinced he couldn’t possibly have any fears!
He was born in a small, no name kind of town, a son born into poverty and of low education. When he was 15, he was told by a banker he was worthless and didn’t deserve the money he was seeking. He told the man that one day he would prove him wrong, and he did just that. He began his own HVAC company, became a county commissioner, retired from his business when I was…

Oh God, please help me to see…
I look in the mirror and see my own face.
I tend to neglect the needy to embrace.
I listen intently to hear my own voice.
I seem to ignore the hurting that need to rejoice.
I go my own way, busy in my own life,
Forgetting You’ve called me to be a good wife.
I run from here to there, scurrying to get the job done,
Neglecting You’ve told me to raise my young son.
I read in Your Word to always put Jesus first,
Believing that I do until I realize my own thirst.
I hear from Your servants, “Never make idols to love,”
Believing that I don’t until I recognize what they’ve become.
Change me and my perspective. Make me what You desire.
Draw me out and cleanse me from this filthy mire.
Transform this mind into the intellect You have planned.
Make this heart as malleable…

As I was thinking, today, of how fast time flies and about our boys growing up too fast, I was reminded of this post. I can’t believe it’s been over 2 years since I wrote this, and now, we have a 15 year old and an almost eleven year old. Cherish the time you have…it’s like sand slipping through your fingertips… ❤️
I watched as my 12 year old walked into school the first day of seventh grade. He had on his favorite shoes, his uniform shorts and shirt; his laptop strapped across his back, and his wheeled backpack handle tight within his grasp. As I looked on, I saw a young man entering that building full of confidence and dreams. I realized in that moment, I could have just as easily have been watching him board an international airline destined for the other side of the world.
He is growing up so very fast. The past two years have seemed quite like a whirlwind…maybe more accurately, a hurricane. Don’t misunderstand these have been wonderful years full of fun, wonder, excitement, adventures, questions, dreams and, yes, maybe a few tears…of course, those have probably been more from my eyes than anyone else’s! Yet, it still feels like a hurricane when I think of how fast…

Meditating on this Scripture today reminded me of this poem written a while back… Psalm 19:14, “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, Oh Lord, my strength and my redeemer.”
Voices screaming at me from all directions
Attacking my body with fire and spears
Never seeing my heart that is bursting
Always believing their own accusations
Tears stream down my face like the rain
Darkness consumes my very being
Shrieks of terror escape my lips
Innocent ears naïve to the shame
Anger and hatred again are stabbing me
Cries for mercy never to be heard
Guilt and anguish fill my mind with pain
Dropped to my knees unable to be free
Penned – 9/28/92 – MG
Sorry this is so late today! THANK YOU to all who work so hard at what you do. You make our lives easier, safer and of better quality. You are the best!! 😊 Happy Labor Day!
Today is Labor Day, and I just want to say, “THANK YOU!”
Thank you for your time. Thank you for your service. Thank you for all you do to make this country, and the world in which we live, a better place.
You are the truck drivers who carry my food across country for the groceries. You are the warehouse workers who stack and box the clothes for the retailers.
You are the teachers in our schools who give so much, and often, receive little in return. You are the cashiers who run up my items at Walmart, Target, Kroger and Sam’s.
You are the CEO’s, the lawyers, the bankers and the accountants who work with the big numbers and the long hours to supply the goods, protect the laws and assign the funds.
You are the policemen on patrol who help to protect my babies as I drive on…

Dedicated to movie nerdom, nostalgia, and escape. In the late 90s, I worked at Blockbuster Video where they let me take home two free movies a day. I caught up on the classics and reviewed theatrical releases for Denver 'burbs newspapers and magazines.
