But a Vapor

I attended a funeral today of a dear friend whose husband was in the chair talking to her, and then, he was gone.

On the same day he left, I made a call to my grandmother because it had been 19 years; since, we had to say goodbye to the love of her life.

In a few weeks, I’ll be present for my father’s memorial, to say goodbye and try to find the right shelf for the varied emotions.

Our lives are but a vapor, here today and gone tomorrow. Are you ready?

This is the month for awareness of miscarriages, infant loss and the fight of breast cancer.

My friend posted the other day the names of her three boys in heaven, and I added my oldest, too.

Just today, I counted five women whom I know personally are walking through, or who have just walked through, this painful and fearful journey; yet, each one of them have come out swingin’.

Our lives are but a vapor. Not a one is promised our next breath. Are you ready?

Don’t maintain that you’re invincible.

Don’t hold on that you’re healthy.

Don’t keep steadfast to the hope that you’re young.

We have no guarantee. We have no contract, no agreement, no treaty with death. He can come at anytime.

Yet, rest assured, he can only come when the Creator of life says, “Now.”

Love a little deeper. Forgive a little faster.

Hold a little tighter. Lean a little stronger.

And pray.

Pray like you’ve never prayed before.

    I’m immediately drawn to the humility here in your presentation and vital subject matter! As a matter of fact I love this posting and you for doing it! This far exceeds any of the multitude of postings on this insane and corrupted man-made tool of the internet and there are so many disturbed and even wicked people skating around on this lake of thin ice that may collapse out from under them at any moment, yet they cruise along with their fake and pompous attitudes seeking attention, fame, money or even adulation and worship! This is the most corrupted generation of mankind in its entire history and if any people ever needed or deserved swift judgment quickly; it’s this one!

    They; so many of them are so lost and insane, drunk with self-glory, power seeking, materialism, vanities of every imagined kind and many are overtly blaspheming God without a concern about it; like they are going to live forever and are so invincible! Living so artificially and proving how fake they are in a fake realm; a real Pandora’s Box!

    This posting says it all; and if anyone doesn’t see what I’m saying and how the time is so “very late” to secure their own redemption and opportunity to be saved; then I actually pity that person who is truly doomed!

    God bless you for this great and glorious “Truth from God our Father” in heaven, and in the Holy name of Jesus Christ I pray that He reaches so many more of them sooner rather than later! Amen.

    My condolences and hopeful prayers to you and your family; as well as for your friend’s loss! God bless them and you! Amen.

  2. I’m sorry for the loss of your friend.

    I had no idea there was a month of awareness for miscarriages, infant deaths, and breast cancer. Our first baby died at birth. When our niece’s third died before being born, we had a special bond from that day on. We need to be ready for death at all times.
