Today is Friday, and this is when I get to share with you a new "friend" I've found here in this great blogosphere. I love this day, because I get the opportunity to find a new blog and you do, too! 😊
Today, I'd like to introduce you to "Brook." She is absolutely new to this blogging community as a whole, and I hope you will welcome her by dropping by and following her blog. Just her "about" page is enjoyable, and I'm looking forward to reading more from here, as I hope you will, too.
Power of Reflected Light
What are you reflecting today?
The lighthouse has such a powerful light which shines across the sea; however, it’s actually not because of a particularly bright light bulb. Rather, it is because of the mirrors in place which cause the reflected light to shine brightly into darkness.
Just as a lighthouse is not bright simply because of a powerful light, a person cannot truly be strong simply because of his or her own strength, and a church cannot be strong simply because of a good program, a popular song service or even a great man behind the pulpit. When founded in Christ, the only true strength is when we reflect the praise we receive upon those with whom we are joined to minist, and reach those who are lost.
When the church body, the leadership, and the pastor are constantly reflecting upon each other all the light that is brought upon them, and especially when they…

Joy in the Sorrow
Just dance, friends. Just dance. 💗
We only experience true joy when we’ve experienced deep pain.
We only experience true strength when we’ve experienced great weakness.
We appreciate the sunshine when we’ve been surrounded by rain.
We are truly grateful for home when we’ve been away for a long time.
We all know the feeling when the day has been unending, and we’re so thankful for our own bed. We are more appreciative, because we’ve recognized the loss of it.
A parent values their child most when that child has been lost to him for a time.
A wife truly cherishes her covenant when she sees him marry the other woman.
A husband really esteems his wife after she has escaped death.
A child treasures a friend when he thought all was forgotten.
We get comfortable in routine.
We grow complacent in the mundane.
We grow ungrateful in the familiar.
Sometimes, hard times come to shake…

Tuesday’s Treats #82
Bullfrogs
Location: Flowery Branch, Ga
Bullfrogs has a great atmosphere, a good staff and delicious food. The menu is a bar and grill type, and there’s lots to choose. I personally love the nachos appetizer and the chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. The desserts are yummy, too. Check them out on the web, and if you’re coming from out of town, go ahead and book yourself a room at the lodge and enjoy the pool, amenities and even Lake Lanier Islands. It’s a fun place to explore. 😊
Friday’s Friends #27

Hi there! It's Friday, and I'm a little late (my sincere apologies for that!), but I'd like to still share with you a new Friday's Friend!
Tristastar is new to this blogging community, and I hope you enjoy reading her posts as she shares about home, family, faith and even favorite recipes. She's seems like an amazing person, and she has a great story to share. Check her out at Where The Staircase Ends and Faith Begins. 😊
Never Again
Tears fall like rain down the well worn path tonight.
Memories of yesterday flood in black, shielding my sight.
You steal the joy in today by the lies of promised change.
Yet, suddenly my heart is not broken this time, all feels strange.
The pain I expected is lessened by a greater presence of hope.
I am no longer bound by your emotional game and rope.
My hands are open as I let go of all you have done and forgive.
I release your memories, your deceit and your hate, never again to relive.

Tuesday’s Treats #81
The Oceanaire Seafood Room
Location: Washington D.C.
This place is all about atmosphere AND delicious seafood. We had been site seeing all day in DC when a friend recommended this restaurant to us. We were famished and almost back to our hotel; so, we decided to give it a try. Upon entering, the manager was on the phone and made us wait for a minute; then, he tried to be a little pretentious, asking if we had reservations and telling our oldest to remove his hat. We just brushed past his behavior, removed the hat and allowed the hostess to seat us. The waitress was more than accommodating, and we quickly realized that what we thought to be true was: expensive restaurant, pretentious manager, great staff and incredibly good food.
We ordered the 16 oz NY strip, blackened halibut, a Caesar salad, truffle whipped potatoes, hashbrowns a’la Oceanaire, and a kid’s cheeseburger with fries. Oh. My. Goodness! Everything was absolutely amazing!! This meal would be ranked in the top ten of our all time favorites. Because the sides and the steak were in such large proportions, we actually split this meal between three people (2 adults and a teen son), and even our youngest son enjoyed some steak, too. Now, I do realize it was shareable, because we had two starches as well, which are very filling; however, it was a large size meal.

As if the meal wasn’t enough, we decided to get dessert, too. The cheesecake was out of this world with a raspberry sauce and berries on top. The “warm cookies and milk” are a definite winner, and the key lime pie was good but maybe not one of my favorites. However, my husband and I both might very well be considered kind of a “key lime pie snob.” The crust was yummy, but there wasn’t enough of it. The whip cream on top was amazing, and it was definitely homemade, but the pie itself was just a little too light and fluffy for my liking.
One of the things I love about their menu is the “simply prepared” items, of which the halibut was one. These items are listed alone with no sides, and you get to decide the side, as well as, the way you’d like it prepared. They do have chef specialties and other items from which to choose. Oh, they also bring out a little tray of fresh veggies to begin (carrots, cucumbers, pickle and radishes) and fresh baked bread and butter. A great way to start off a wonderful meal!
I didn’t realize until going to the website they have so many locations. We will definitely be looking them up when we are in different states, too!
Gold All Around You
Celebrating our oldest son this past week brought me back, once again, to this post. I don’t think I can rewrite it much better; so, I will simply reblog it one more time. I do hope you will forgive my redundancy. This momma’s heart is all tender with reminiscences as he is now 16… ❤️Love him so much!
This week, we are celebrating our oldest son as he is turning 14. I can’t believe it. Seems like it was just yesterday that we were bringing him home from the hospital. In celebration of this event, I thought I would repost a blog I wrote to him last year.I am very proud to be hismom, and I hope as I share this with you, it will encourage you as a parent, as a grandparent, oreven as someone who desires to make an impact on this next generation…
He was born a dreamer. He has always dreamed big dreams. At the age of four, he was Batman, Spider-Man, policeman and cowboy, all combined within that sweet tiny frame; the image altering daily, depending upon the mood of the hour. When he had turned nine, the superheroes had faded, and music had taken over. He was a…

Friday’s Friends #26
It’s Friday!! Yay!! I love Fridays, because it’s when I get to share with you one of my “new” blogging “friends. I may not know them personally, but I’ve met them through the blogging community, and here, we are all friends. 😉
Today, I’d like to introduce you to Carla over at seakingthesun. I started following her blog quite a while back, but I dropped back by tonight, and I was just “wowed” by this piece about forgiveness. She has such a brave, strong heart, and I hope you will find encouragement there as I have.
Have a great weekend ahead! 💗
When It Rains, It Pours
Don’t lose hope. Take comfort knowing after the storm, His rainbow of promise will appear. I pray you’re encouraged today.
Sometimes, when it rained, it pours…
Yesterday, I talked to a gentleman whose mom passed away last week. Just a few days prior to this news, his wife was in a diabetic coma and had to have a stint put in so her heart could work properly. The same week, the family received a call concerning her mother, who had fallen and broken a hip. She lives in a different country, and his wife is in no condition to travel to see her.
Just got off the phone with someone whose parents are no longer able to go out on their own. They think her father may have had a mini stroke, and both her parents seem to be growing more feeble as the days progress. This same lady has an aunt who has to be taken to every appointment she has, and she’s the designated driver…seems she has several…
