Friday Fun Day

Some days are just going to be filled with wind and rain.

Other days are going to be overwhelmed with tears and pain.

When this journey of life seems to consume, and it’s gets hard to remember the sun that used to shine…

Just take a step back. Breathe deep and exhale long.

Remember, there’s always more.

As long as your heart is still beating and your lungs are still breathing, there’s always hope.

Push away those clouds.

Chase away those blues.

And go have a Friday Fun Day!

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39

Whimsical Wednesday

Parenting has so many mountains and valleys, and they will come and go so rapidly, you’ll miss them if you blink.

You can’t hold too loosely, or you’ll miss all that you neglected.

You can’t hold on too tightly, or you just might lose it all.

You just have to be in the moment and enjoy it.

Savor it.

Treasure it.

Remember it.

And when the heavy lifting over, know that it’s not really over.

It’s just shifted a bit, and a new chapter will open.

Live fully.

Laugh freely.

Love deeply.

Friday Fun Day

I don’t know about you, but those little sparkles that you can buy during the Fourth of July holidays make me feel like a little kid.

They light up the night.

They sizzle.

They pop.

They bring sweet memories rushing in of innocence and laughter.

If you’re struggling today to find some peace, and if your striving this week to find some joy, just go pick up a box of those sparklers.

Light ‘em up.

Let them spark.

Let them bring a moment of joy to your heart, and remember there’s still hope.

Because there’s still breath to breathe.

Enjoy your Friday Fun Day!

“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11

Whimsical Wednesday

Sometimes, things don’t turn out like they should.

Sometimes, your dreams change or disappear.

Sometimes, the aspirations of yesterday get middles in the chaos of today.

Yet, there is still Hope, and it can find a way.

Just take a moment to breathe.

Just take a second to relax

Just step back from all the confusion and deeply exhale.

Just remember, there is a God who can shelter you in the gale.

Tuesday’s Treats #202

RCB (Riverstone Corner Bistro)

Location: Canton, Ga

This place is really nice, and the food is amazing! We have eaten here several times, almost every time we’re in the area. The staff is also attentive and friendly.

The pimento cheese appetizer is amazing! Just watch out, because if you eat the whole thing, and there’s only two of you, you might not be able to finish your lunch/dinner! 😂

The shrimp and grits are definitely a winner. Let me just say, Smoke Gouda Grits! Oh my word. So good! We’ve also had the burger, too he grilled chicken and the market fish of the day. Everything is delicious! I’m wondering if they can make anything bad. Seriously.

Now, let’s talk desserts. They have several yummy options, but our favorite is the double brownie. Oh. My. Word! Ooey, gooey chocolate with a scoop of ice cream. Just the way it should be. Delicious!

*Well, after a way-too-long hiatus, Tuesday’s Treats are back. Between Covid, shutdowns and our job becoming a bit busier rather than slower during all of it, I’ve not been writing very much over the last 3 months. So, I’m working back into it, and my good blogging friend, Linda, over at Walkin’, Writin’, Wit & Whimsy, reminded me how much she enjoyed these; so, here we go! (Btw, she’s got a great blog! Go take a look. I believe you’ll really enjoy it!) 😉

**…and I suppose, since it’s been so long, I couldn’t even keep up with the day this is supposed to be posted! Lol!! I am reposting this on Tuesday; since, I got ahead of myself and posted Tuesday’s Treats on Monday! 🙄🤦‍♀️😅

Friday Fun Day

It’s Friday, and I’m back!

Fridays are made for fun!

So, let’s go have some!

Get outside. Run, jump, and play.

Do something fun.

Swim, run, hike, or just enjoy the day.

Don’t stop until it’s done.

Well, It Happens

Yeah, through all the homework and tears,

Through all the newness and fears,

Despite the hardships and trails,

Despite all the journey of many, many miles,

This happened.

Now, the really adventure begins…

Do Something

George Floyd Memorial
Minneapolis, MN

So many words are spewed about

So many syllables are given out

This one says you should say that

That one says you should use this format

So many demand justice and revenge

So many scream inequality must end

This one brings a torch and a brick

That one brings a hand that constricts

How does this violence bring harmony to souls?

How does this hatred bring peace to console?

Can’t you see the only answer is unified prayer?

Can’t you see the only action is our hearts stripped bare?

May we search deep within for the sin that lies dormant.

May we recognize the enemy of the cross is our torment.

Our battle is never because of my skin color or yours or because of a simple nod.

Our battle is always with the one who steals, kills and destroys the children of God.

Where Do You Rest Your Eyes?

Going through the recent pandemic experience, I have noticed something about human nature. I’ve always known this to be true, but throughout this season, I have seen the evidence portrayed more vividly than ever before.

Where you rest your eyes in life will determine where you end up.

Just as, if while walking along a path, when you never once glance down, you may trip over a tree root or sidewalk, you will trip up in life if you constantly hold your head up in pride and never kneel down in humility.

Just as, if while running along the road, when you never look up, you may run into a tree or get run over by a car, you will run into a wall of anxiety and get run over by an avalanche of fear if you constantly keep your head down and never look beyond your problems.

Just as, if while climbing a mountain, when you refuse to persevere, you’ll never see the beautiful sunset in the horizon, you will be blinded by life’s circumstances if you consistently give up before you achieve the end goal.

Where your eyes search, there you will remain.

Where your eyes reside, there is where you will find your heart.

Take courage to seek peace.

Take courage to seek truth.

Take courage to seek faith.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Matthew 6:33
