Universal Joint
Location: Clayton, Ga
This little gem is situated right downtown in the North Georgia mountain town of Clayton. There’s always a crowd; so, show up early, or plan to fight for a seat. Lol! There’s some seating inside, as well as, plenty of patio seating.
The staff is friendly, and the food is yummy. We always like to start with the Pimiento Cheese Plate and follow it with burgers, tator tots and a cold, sweet ice tea. I used to get the brisket sandwich all the time, but somewhere along the way, they started getting one a little too salty; so, now I just stick to the burgers, and they’re always delicious. They have other sandwiches, salads and apps from which to choose. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with much of anything you get. So, head on over and check it out! And since it’s October already, be sure to drive on up the road just a bit to Black Rock Mountain State Park Ana check out the beautiful fall colors! 😉
That close-up of the burger plate … oh my. I wanted to reach over and grab one of the strips of bacon and a few tator tots too! The Fall colors sound nice – in my neck of the woods, not much color yet, more in the Upper Peninsula right now, but it will change in the next 10 days or so.

That burger is delicious, and the drive in that area is gorgeous in mid October-November. It’s still hot as blazes here now! Supposed to be a high of 87. 😜 This is the two weeks of the year when I’m ready to scream over the weather, because I’ve been so ready for fall since way back in April! Lol! 😂

Me too – I am happy to see the “real” Fall’s arrival. We have 73 degrees here – a couple of days ago, it was cold. In fact we have a stormy night and Thursday morning due to the heat surge and 80s for the weekend. I’ll bet people here are sorry they drained their pools during the chilly spell!
