Well, Merry Christmas! This restaurant review was placed back in October; so, it’s not going to look very “Christmas’y,” but I’d be willing to bet this restaurant will be set up for Christmas! 😉 🎄 This place has a really cool atmosphere, and I loved it when I walked in and said, “Two for a booth, please,” the hostess answered with a smile, “Booths are all we have.”
The ‘Pickles and Pups’ appetizer was huge and quite too much for only myself and my son, but it was definitely tasty. He ordered the kids cheeseburger, and I ordered the shrimp and grits. His burger was delicious, and my shrimp and grits was good, but honestly, I’ve had a little better in the grits department. They weren’t as creamy and rich as I thought oils have liked.
The chocolate cake and apple streusel pie was absolutely amazing. We left full and happy. Check out their website for location and menu options.
*Note to travelers: if you put this into your gps, and Siri tells you, “You have arrived,” but you don’t see the restaurant, don’t panic or turn around. The restaurant is located under the overpass, right near the railroad tracks. There are several restaurants, shops and even a cinema down there; so, you don’t want to miss it. 😉
Merry Christmas to you and yours! We hope you have a beautiful Christmas Day with those you love! 💗🎄
Oh my the desserts – they look wonderful. So I have to ask, the “Pups and Pickles” … this is picture no. 1 and it is fried pickles and hush puppies? They look like hush puppies … used to get them at Long John Silvers fish restaurant back in the day – not Southern fare, just a franchise, but I was bad when hush puppies were on the menu. 🙂 Merry Christmas back at you!

Yes! Those are fried pickles and hush puppies, and they were pretty good! Not quite as good as the best ones I’ve had at a restaurant in Florida, but they were tasty. The fried pickles were actually my favorite! 😊 Happy New Year!
