When did you fly away from childhood heroes and boyhood dreams?
When did you run down the trail to new horizons and discover new landscapes?
When did you walk into the footsteps of your father and become a man?
It seems to have happened so fast, and yet, I was there for every joyous moment.
I was present for each and every scraped knee and hidden tear shed.
I remember the little boy behind the mask, and yet, I see glimpses of him late at night when the lights go dim.
I remember the fast beating of your heart as you dreamt of the mighty warriors’ flights and the swords defeating the dragons.
And yet, I still hear that beat to a different drum as you seek to find your way in this great big world and glance back to see if I’m still watching, waiting, hoping for one more embrace.
I love you, my son, and shout to you across this chasm of the unknown.
“Run, fly, chase those dreams! You can do this! This is your time to shine!”
“You were made for this moment!”
Never forget, He will always be right there with you, and I will be here cheering you on, always ready to welcome you with open arms.

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6
Aw, this is nice Mia – share it with him. Yes, he is off to new adventures at school, away from home, but there is still a young boy sometimes longing for the comfort of home and his Mom’s arms around him too.

Yeah, he actually came home tonight, and it’s so nice to have all my guys under one roof. My world seems to just settle when I know they’re all here. 💗

I can see that – especially in this time of such uncertainty with COVID, it’s good to assemble at home. They are not doing any online classes then, all in-seat learning?

They’re doing a bit of both. Being in an open state like Georgia, school are kind of deciding what’s best for them. I’m glad they’re meeting in person, because my boys do so much better in the community of learning. Masks are all required, which I know is comforting for the adults and some parents. 😉

Well, they will get into a routine after a while – all of this is so new and adjustments will be made long into the school year I’m thinking. It is good that masks are required. That is really important until a vaccine is proven to be effective.

At least, he has fun with the masks for the time being! 😂😂

Yes – double prepared and double the fun like the Doublemint commercial back in the day.
