Whimsical Wednesday

What we will do for our children and our pocketbooks…

These little gems cost me about 45 minutes of search this morning, as I dug through 4 bags of trash (2 recycle and 2 NASTY), only to realize my son and I had had a miscommunication! 😳

I hadn’t accidentally thrown them away the other day; his dad had, and they were simply in a much cleaner bathroom trashcan rather than the great big garage trashcan of kitchen trash! 🤦‍♀️

I am so very thankful, but Wow. Not exactly the Whimsical Wednesday morning I had been looking for! I am so grateful to not be headed to the dentist for a $300 replacement pair; however, I about lost my lunch, or rather almost didn’t eat lunch, over that little treasure hunt!🤢

I do hope your Wednesday was much more Whimsical than what mine was, and if not, we always have next week to which we can look forward!😉

Friday Fun Day

Somedays, you just need to put in your fuzzy lounge pants and fuzzy socks, grab a hot cup of coffee (or tea), cover up with a warm quilt, and curl up with a good book or a classic movie…especially, when it’s cold and rainy outside!

Can you feel a Friday Fun Day comin’ on?

Let’s go! 😊

Friday Fun Day

When you go on a little birthday celebration trip, and dad says, “You can fill up a cart with anything you’d like.” So, they use “1/2 buggies,” as I call them, to complete the task, and they get as many items as they possibly can, especially those that I won’t normally buy for them!

Now, that’s what I call a Friday Fun Day! 🎉

… even though, it was Thursday night…just a few hours early! Lol! 🤣

Whimsical Wednesday

The weather is fine

Let’s go and dine

Let’s go and have an adventure

Before all the leaves turn to winter

The drive is divine

We don’t need the wine

We don’t need the activity center

As long as with love we can venture

Friday Fun Day

What’s fun for one person may not be all that fun for another. Activities are subjective to the likes and dislikes of an individual, I suppose. What you enjoy doing doesn’t, necessarily, have to be perceived by everyone else as an exciting fan fare. Just have fun. Enjoy yourself. Even if you’re doing it alone, as long as you’re having fun, that’s what matters!

What are you doing on this Friday evening?

Are you with a group, with a friend, with a loved one or all alone?

Are you having fun?

Friday Fun Day

Last Friday, we ended up with a free evening. The wind was right; the fall temperatures were perfect, and my husband decided to go sailing. I was working on a project, and I almost stayed home while he and our youngest left for the boat.

I’m so thankful I didn’t say no!

Sometimes, your “no” will cause you to miss out on the best moments and the most unforgettable memories.

Go on now. Go have a Friday Fun Day! 😉

Friday Fun Day

It’s finally feeling like Fall around here!

How about you?

We built a campfire in our fire pit the other night, and it was amazing! I love to watch the fire “breathe” beneath the logs. It wasn’t even a huge fire, but the flames blue and sweltering hot.

It’s just another reminder of how amazing my God is. He creates something so beautiful and dangerous and comforting, even healing at times. His creation is always amazing me.

How about you?

What do you love about the Fall and this time of year?

Friday Fun Day

Sometimes, you just need a bath…

Wash away the muck and mire of life’s journey. Purify. Purge. Expunge.

Blot out the ugly and the waste of living experiences. Scour. Sanitize. Refine.

Wipe off and polish up for a new beginning.

Fridays are a good day to accomplish a good cleansing. It’s the end of the work week, right before the free weekend.

Great time to make anew.

How ’bout it? Are you ready to let it all go?

Friday Fun Day

What’s your Friday like? Is it a crazy day chaos leading into the weekend? Is it a mundane day of grind, constantly watching the clock for that 5:00 hour? Is it a dreaded day of misery, as everything must be done in such a way, and by such a time, only to wait in misery on the highway to final reach your destination hours and hours later?

Or maybe you have the day off today? Is it an unusual treat for you, or maybe you have a normal four day week? For me, as a stay at home mom, and we have our kids in a hybrid homeschool, today is usually an off day. Our oldest goes to work for the day, and our youngest has studied to complete.

Yet, today isn’t quite an off day; it’s found a bit of dread in it. Today, I have to do what hundreds (maybe thousands) of women hate to do. I have to go get an exam. Thankfully, it’s thermography rather than the other dreaded procedure, but still, not a joyous adventure for me. 😳 The joys of being a girl, I suppose. We will just make the best of it…

Well, let’s get this over with. Happy Friday, and everyone! 😉

What is your Friday going to be like today?

Tuesday’s Treats #179

Cantina 76

Location: Greenville, SC

The downtown of Greenville, SC is a great place for shopping and eating; so, even pursuing TripAdvisor makes it tough to decide where to eat. (There’s only 711 restaurants from which to choose! 😳😜) Cantina 76 was listed in the top 200, and it was close there where we were walking; so, we decided to give it a try.

Now, if you know anything about cantinas, they’re typically a little more expensive than your local “authentic” Mexican fare, and Cantina 76 doesn’t disappoint. They even charge individually for salsa! However, everything was incredibly fresh, and they had a trio app that came with three salsa/quest choices. So, we decided to not resent the choices too bad. Lol.

Our oldest got the teriyaki chicken and buffalo chicken tacos (individual, not mixed). Wow! Crazy good!! Our youngest got rice and beans. My husband got 3 beef and cheese tacos, and I got one beef and one roasted chicken. Each of the tacos were great, but I would have to say the roasted chicken was my favorite. My husband and eldest son would say the buffalo chicken was the best. Our youngest would say the bean dip was the absolute best. oh, Ana the salsa is phenomenal!

There are a variety of tacos to choose, and there are a few other items on the menu, but you’re not going to find all the extensive “authentic Mexican” menu items.

Here is the website to find menu and location.
